Neighbourhoods

Brickell
When William and Mary Brickell opened their trading post in 1870, they imagined that the area would grow into a prosperous community.  Today, Brickell is the second largest international banking center in the country, a fact which earned the neighborhood the nickname “Manhattan of the South.”  Centrally located amongst Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, downtown and Coconut Grove, Brickell is a luxurious paradise nestled against the waters of Biscayne Bay.  The diverse community is moments away from major entertainment, dining and cultural venues and can boast access to the heart of the city’s mass transit arteries.

Downtown
Stretching over the deep aqua waters of Biscayne Bay stands Downtown Miami.  The skyline can be seen from the suburbs to the north and west, Miami Beach to the east, and Brickell and the financial district to the south.  It is the hub of the city and the birthplace of the next step in this metropolis’s urban evolution.  Various business, social and residential groups have identified the importance of the downtown area, and what was once a seldom-visited neighborhood of discount shops is transforming into a vibrant landscape on par with Manhattan and Chicago.  With mass transit, entertainment, dining and shopping only steps away from any building in the area, it’s no wonder that downtown is the heart of Miami.

South of Fifth
What was once a blighted area of Miami Beach experienced a rebirth in the 1990s and is now one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city.  The area known simply as SoFi is a home to celebrities, business people, jetsetters and tourists all seeking a luxurious home away from home.  The restaurants and clubs are among the best in the world.  And the white sand beaches and local flair make it easy to forget that one of the largest, busiest and most financially important cities on the globe is just across the bay.

Area around the W South Beach
The area around 22nd Street and Collins Avenue is a mini Mecca for the arts in Miami Beach.  Located at the epicenter of a number of aesthetic-endorsing venues, including the Bass Museum of Art and Collins Park, one of the major sites of the annual Art Basel exhibition, the area is also in a prime location for people seeking more varied forms of entertainment.  If shopping is on the agenda, Lincoln Road is only blocks away.  Club goers can huff it to the famous South Beach strip or any of the numerous hotels that are to the north.

Aventura
What originally began as a condo venture in North Miami blossomed into a city proper in the 1980s.  Today, Aventura is a known as the City of Excellence, and that philosophy shines through in every aspect of this metropolis.  Top notch dining and shopping can be found both within and just outside of the city.  Aventura Mall, one of the largest mall in Florida, is centrally located, yet the city preserves an intimate feel with its parks and community activites.
